Why we use your information
Suggested text:
We use your information only to:
- reply to your enquiry and contact you by phone, WhatsApp, SMS or email about your request;
- check whether you’re eligible for, and help you apply to, government schemes such as PM-JAY (Ayushman Bharat);
- process and manage your housing membership, registration fee, instalments and allotment;
- tell you about camps, seminars and programmes, but only if you agreed to this;
- keep accounting and legal records that the law requires;
- improve our website and services.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to Arzoo’s work.
Consent
We process your personal data with your consent, which you give when you submit a form, tick the consent box, or contact us. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to [email] or calling 022 – 2417 2663. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew. However, we may then be unable to continue a scheme application or housing membership that depends on that data.
We may also process data without fresh consent where the law allows it, for example to meet a legal obligation or respond to a medical emergency.
Aadhaar and identity documents
- We ask for Aadhaar or other identity documents only when a government scheme or housing membership requires them.
- Wherever possible, we keep only masked Aadhaar copies (first 8 digits hidden).
- We never use Aadhaar or other identity documents for any purpose other than the one you gave them for.
- Paper copies are kept securely at our registered office. Digital copies are kept with restricted access.
Who we share your information with
We share information only as far as needed to complete your request, with:
- government departments, scheme authorities and empanelled hospitals, to submit your PM-JAY or other scheme application;
- banks or housing-finance companies, if you ask for help with a home loan;
- the lawyers, architects and auditors who verify housing projects and audit our accounts;
- service providers who run our website, hosting, forms and messaging, under confidentiality obligations;
- authorities, when the law requires it.
Generally we don’t transfer your data outside India. Some service providers, such as email or website tools, may store data on servers abroad. Where they do, we use reputable providers and only as the law permits.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries that don’t go further: up to [12] months, then deleted.
- Scheme applications: for as long as the application is active, and then as long as the scheme’s rules require.
- Housing members: for the duration of membership and the project, plus the period required by co-operative society and tax laws.
- Financial records: as required by Indian law (generally 8 years).
When we no longer need data, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Cookies and third-party services
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to work properly and to understand how visitors use it. We may also use:
- Google Fonts and YouTube embedded videos, which may set their own cookies;
- website analytics to count visits and see which pages are used;
- email/newsletter tools, only if you subscribe.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable security measures, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, password-protected systems, staff access limited to people who need the data, and locked storage for paper records. No system is completely secure. If a data breach affects you, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you can:
- access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask for deletion of your data when it’s no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become incapable;
- raise a grievance with us, and if you aren’t satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, contact us as described in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity first.
